About Ashfameena Foods

A Nigerian food business built on a simple standard: if we would not serve it to our own family, we do not sell it.

It started at home.

Ashfameena began as a home kitchen selling to people who already knew us. There was no advertising budget and no shortcut. The pap had to ferment properly. The garri had to be sieved until it was genuinely clean. Word travelled from there.

We are still small, and we treat that as an advantage. Small batches mean someone checks every tub before it leaves. When you message us, you reach the people who actually make the food.

How we work

Four habits we do not trade away, whatever the order size.

  • Proper fermentationPap gets the time it needs. That is where the taste and the digestibility come from, and there is no way around it.
  • Clean sievingOur garri is sieved to an even grain. What you soak is what you eat, with nothing hiding in it.
  • Slow clarificationGhee and tallow are rendered low and slow, then strained. Fats this clean keep longer and cook better.
  • Honest packagingSealed containers, clear labels, and weights we stand over. What is on the label is what is inside.

Where we are going

The plan is steady growth: more pantry staples made to the same standard, more shops stocking us, and delivery to more cities. We would rather grow slowly and keep the standard than grow fast and lose it.
